Article Marketing – 4 Tips To Improve Website Traffic
The whole point about article marketing is to improve website traffic. But this won’t happen if people do not read your articles. They cannot read them if they do not know about them. Your strategy then is to draw readers to your articles and deliver relevant, readable content that will be of value to them and encourage them to visit your website to find out more. Here are some tips that will help you do this.
Think hard about your title
This is what will draw potential readers to your article. They will arrive at your article because they have searched for a particular word or phrase. It makes sense then, to have one or two keywords in your title they might be searching for. The main keyword will attract some readers; a secondary one will attract some more. For example, I have tried to do this in this article: “Article Marketing” is my main keyword and “Improve Website Traffic” is the next one. How successful I have been remains to be seen.
Use keywords and keyword phrases in your article
Try to work in keywords in a natural way. They should fit in seamlessly and enhance the text. If they do not fit in, it is better not to use them. Forcing keywords to fit an article is frowned upon both by the search engines and the article directories. It can be looked on as keyword stuffing, which is a definite no-no. That’s why some article directories have a rule of thumb that a keyword will only appear once for every 100 words.
This is a good guide, because when you are writing about a particular subject it is natural to use keywords associated with that. The challenge is to find other words or phrases to replace those keywords so you will not overdo it. This will generally improve your writing anyway.
Provide good content
Give your readers tips, thoughts and ideas that will help them. They are reading your article to find answers to their questions or to help with some problems or tips to make things easier. You can share your experience or knowledge that will make life easier for them. And you need to do this in a coherent, easily understood manner. That’s why correct spelling and good grammar is important.
Put a link in your resource box
It is vital to have a link back to your website in your resource box. In fact, most article directories allow two links. You have researched the keywords, worked hard over your presentation and delivered a good article. But it is all in vain if you have not invited your readers to visit your website and provided a link back to it. It may sound obvious, but these things can be overlooked.
In article marketing it is important to deliver the complete package: keyword research, so people can find you; good content, so they get value from you; good English to give them an enjoyable reading experience; a link back to your website, so they can get more valuable information. Do your best to deliver this package each time you write an article and you will improve website traffic.
