List Building – Affiliate Marketing is a Great Place to Start

People often ask me, "Where is a good place for me to start list building if I do not have a product of my own?"

Affiliate Marketing is a great place to start. You promote and sell someone else's product. You get an affiliate link to their web site or sales page and you drive traffic to that page. Once you get the traffic there you start building your own list.

Lots of people think you can not be list building when you are promoting other people's products-they are wrong!

Without it is spelled out in your affiliate agreement that you can not do something then, then you can do just about anything to sell their product.

You are paying for the advertising to get the traffic, right? Even if it is "free" traffic, you are paying in terms of spending your valuable time to get the traffic. Be sure to review the Terms of Service (TOS) … and if an affiliate program will not let you build your own list then drop that program like a hot potato! List building is your number one priority in order to grow your business!

The basic process for listing building is the same whether the product you are promoting is your own or an affiliate product.

  • Get a domain name (it is better than a Tiny URL or using a big long affiliate link)
  • Get web hosting
  • Build your squeeze page (so you can start building your list)
  • Drive traffic
  • Set up your autoresponder system so you keep in touch with your new list!

A couple key points to keep in mind when promoting affiliate products with list building as your end goal:

  • Know your niche and pick products that fit
  • Pick products that convert well
  • Use the product and be able to explain why you recommend it

In other words, if you are in gardening niche, do not try to promote my list building products (as great as they are … your customers will not "dig it" … it is not a good fit for them). Keep in your niche and offer additional products that your subscribers can benefit from.

In addition to being a good fit, find products that convert (sell) well. This is more important even that a high commission because if no one buys the product it actually does not matter what the commission is! Sure your goal is list building, but you also want to make money! So be sure to take a little time and pick the product that has a better chance of adding to your bottom line!

Before you recommend a product, you have to clear why someone else would buy it. Keep your customer in mind first. By focusing on what's in it for them, you will actually get more money in the long run. So buy and try the product first-then recommend it! From your experience you can tell people how it will help them … answering their most important question, "what's in it for me?" On the other hand, if you recommend a bad product you will lose all credibility with your subscribers and your list building efforts will go down the drain!

Four Ways For Sales and Marketing Professionals to Segment Their Target Market

Philip Kotler reminds us that if markets are to be segregated and cultured, they must meet certain requirements. Segments must be:

  1. Measurable
  2. Substantial
  3. Accessible
  4. Differentiable
  5. Actionable

Assuming your target markets meet those requirements, sales and marketing professionals can cultivate these segments to maximize their potential. There are four ways to segment any given market and the choices you make regarding how to segment will impact the quality of your efforts.

The first way to segment a market is by demographics. This is the easiest, most measurable, and most widely used way to segmentation method. The market is divided into groups based on any number of factors including age, race, family size, sex, income level, net worth, social class, nationality, and more. Companies like InfoUSA have created massive databases that help businesses segment the market using these and other consumer attributes. These database companies offer free services that allow business owners to see how large segments are and make good decisions regarding how to best market to potential clients.

Segmenting a market geographically requires a company to focus solely on a specific neighborhood, city, state, region, or country. One of the best examples of a company who uses geography to segment markets is Pillsbury. Marketers at Pillsbury use software to analyze food preferences and buyer behavior right down to individual zip codes throughout the US

Some marketers choose to segment based on the predictable behavior of certain groups of people. This behavior can be triggered by major events like weddings, funerals, having children, or sending children to college. Another component of behavior deals with how certain consumers consistently seek out different benefits from similar products or services such as quickest service, lowest price, or best customer service.

Consumer Psychology

The final way to segment a market is by consumer psychology, which includes variables like lifestyle choices, personality qualities, and value systems. Different lifestyle choices that consumers make include marriage, parenting, healthy eating and exercise decisions, environmental conscientiousness, religious choice, and philanthropic activities.

Practical Application

No doubt, most companies will choose to segment by demographics. It requires less thought and is the easiest to analyze. However, some businesses have been able to serve more clients by broadening their segmentations efforts to include geographic, behavioral, and psychological components. It may make sense for your company to use a different segmentation strategy, too.

Viral Email Marketing – Your Ultimate Branding, List Building and Traffic Generation Strategy

What is viral email marketing? Basically, it's Viral Marketing using Email. This marketing strategy allows you to distribute your marketing message as wide as possible in the shortest time. The wide spread distribution effort is performed by the people reading your marketing message.

What do you get out of it? Here's a scenario for you. You send out a single message to your initial distribution list. Your viral message then entices your users to further distribute it to their own distribution list. Say you have a list of 10. This 10 would then distribute it further to their list of 10. Do you see the pattern? Within minutes, your marketing message would have been distributed to hundreds if not thousands of readers. Just from your initial list of 10 readers. Imagine how much coverage you get to market to.

Your Ultimate Branding Strategy . If you are just starting a new brand, you should then use this strategy to create brand awareness. Yes, use this infectious marketing method as one of your corporate branding strategies. Offer something of value related to your brand. Entice your readers to spread the word to their lists. Within minutes, your brand will be known by people all over the world. Try offering something FREE at first. Watch how your brand gets noted in a matter of hours or days.

Build Your Opt-In List . Utilizing the free offer you have in your marketing message, provide your readers with an opt-in list. Entice your readers to opt-in into your list with that free offer. Encourage them to also spread the message further to their list. This is probably one of the best methods of building your list. Send out a marketing email, wait and watch your list grow. How much simpler can it be?

Website Traffic Generation . You have a website but no traffic? Well, take a look at the first two benefits we've talked about. You are offering a FREE item to your readers. In order to get the FREE item, they are given an opt-in option. Now, let's say you provide all these from the comfort of your very own web site. You would then receive a ton of traffic to your web site, would not you?

How is that for an ultimate marketing strategy? Just from a single marketing email, enhanced to become viral, you get three direct benefits. One single strategy to perform branding, list building and traffic generation.

Affiliate Marketing And What You Need To Know

Affiliate marketing can often be a way to bring in extra income. Many people have successfully done this through their website or blog. Basically, you can make money by hosting advertising in the form of a direct link to a website related to the topic of a blog. For instance a website on parenting can host a link to a kids store. How can you get started or improve at this?

Create a short e-book and post it on document sharing sites. By doing this you can show off your expertise, but you can also attract visitors and prospective buyers who are looking for similar information, to your site. Be sure to include a number of links to your site inside the document.

When selecting an affiliate program, be very sure to read the fine print of your contract, and especially beware any exclusivity clauses. An exclusivity clause may dictate that you can only promote that company’s products on your website. This can seriously impact your earnings if you planned to use multiple programs.

Being up front about using affiliate marketing can prove to have positive results. Honesty is still the best policy, even when it comes to affiliate marketing. If your site visitors see that you haven’t just thrown a bunch of affiliate links together and called it a site, they will be much more likely to use those links to buy products.

Pick a high-quality product. If you recommend a product that is of poor quality, it will reflect back on you as a promoter. The last thing you want people to believe is that you purposely recommended a product that doesn’t work. If you wouldn’t trust it, don’t ask your readers to!

To increase the success of your affiliate marketing, be sure to choose quality products to advertise. Remember, all of the recommendations that you make reflect directly back on you. Therefore, if you advertise an affordable and quality product, your customers or subscribers will trust your advice, thereby boosting your credibility.

Do not go crazy with social media updates and Internet searching if you want to remain productive in affiliate marketing. Checking your email multiple times per day or changing your Facebook status is great to do in your downtime, but remember that becoming a successful affiliate is not downtime! Keep your mind on task.

Be prepared to spend a lot of time on your affiliate marketing business, even after your website is set up and you are making money. The field of affiliate marketing requires dedication and working hours that you may not normally be used to working, such as nights and some weekends.

A great affiliate marketing tip is to make sure you have enough money for your own web site. Your efforts in promoting affiliate products will be wasted if your web site suddenly shuts down because you couldn’t afford to keep it going. Make sure you have a proper budget for your site.

As you can see, with a little time and effort you can monetize your site and bring in a nice income. The key is to apply the right advice, and not rush it. Lots of other people are making money doing this, so why can’t you?

Create A Solid Online Presence to Make Money

In today’s modern world, it’s difficult to be a successful freelance writer without a solid online presence. Sure, you may get one or two clients via in-person networking, but the vast majority of your work, as an online freelance writer, will come from the web, on places like your website, your social media platforms and even via Google search results.

So if you’re just starting your freelancing journey, consider building your online presence as step #1. It will be the foundation for everything you do as a writer, and it will help you build the lucrative and successful career that you’ve been dreaming of. Don’t know where to start?

Here are the four must-have essentials:

1. A Portfolio Site – Your portfolio site is the most important piece of the puzzle. It’s where potential clients can go to learn about you and your skills and read samples of your writing. It’s also what will show up in Google search results if you practice search engine optimization techniques.

2. A LinkedIn Page – LinkedIn is a great place to find new clients and new projects. Upload samples of your work, get recommendations from colleagues and past employers, and create a profile to show off to potential clients.

3. A Twitter Account – With Twitter, you can establish yourself as a true expert in your niche and as a writer. Use this platform to share news and industry insights, and promote your work (and your client’s!) whenever possible. Optimize your profile with the right terms and hashtags, and you may even snag a few new projects.

4. Your Own Blog – Starting a blog can help your career in numerous ways. First, it can display a great snapshot of your skills. If you don’t have many samples yet, a blog also offers potential clients a way to evaluate your talents and see what you can really do. And it can help you establish yourself as an expert in a specific niche or industry as well.

Be sure to tend to your blog and profiles regularly, update them with new skills and samples as you gain them, and use them to their fullest potential.

If you need advice on how to create a client-attracting online presence that will help you get more writing gigs and build your freelance writing career, then you should check out Maggie Linders’ Freelance Profit Academy.

Maggie, a six-figure freelance writer, teaches writers exactly how to build full-fledged, successful freelance writing businesses while offering personal coaching and support as well as daily scam-free job opportunities.

The Fastest Way to Earn Your First $1,000 as a Freelance Writer – You know what feels great? Earning your first big chunk of cash as a professional freelance writer. It makes you feel like you made the right choice – like quitting your 9-to-5, branching out on your own and blazing your own path was the best thing you’ve ever done. But if you’re just starting out, it can feel like that day is a long way away. If you’re starting off with content mills and bidding sites, you may very well be working for pennies – and that can take a while to add up.

Fortunately, those aren’t your only options. You can earn $1,000 as a freelance writer fast – long before your mortgage is due and the tax man comes calling.

Here’s how to do it:

Find A Few Clients In Need – Scour your LinkedIn network and check out the websites of local businesses and companies. Is there any group with a less-than-stellar website? You could probably beef up their web content and make a big difference. Are any of your connections starting a new job? Find out if their company could use content help. Is someone in the market for employment? Offer to write copy for their personal portfolio site.

Request A “Per-Project” Rate – If you want to reach $1,000 fast, forget billing hourly. Instead, propose a flat, per-project rate for your clients. Factor in how much time the project will take you, as well as your experience and skills, and come up with a fee that’s fair (but profitable!)

Exceed Your Deadlines – Sure, that new client might give you a month to complete their new website content, but do you really need that long? More importantly, do you want to wait that long for your payment? The quicker you get to work, the quicker you get paid!

Get Deposits And Ask For “Milestone” Payments – If you’re working on a particularly large project, a great way to get your cash early is to ask for a deposit or collect milestone payments. With a deposit, you’ll ask for a certain percentage of your total fee upfront. This is to reserve your time and protect you from getting stiffed. With milestone payments, you can have the client pay you for each chunk of content you turn in – maybe per webpage your write, per blog post or per eBook chapter.

Make Payment Easy – Finally, don’t make payment a hassle for your clients. Get a PayPal and Venmo account, and ditch the old mailed, paper checks you’re used to. Bill clients via email, and let them pay you instantly and seamlessly online. It’s better for both you and them. Earning your first $1,000 can seem like an uphill battle but it doesn’t have to be that way. If you want a proven, step-by-step system to earning your first $1,000 and more in a short period of time, check out Maggie Linder’s Freelance Profit Academy. This program has become very popular among freelance writers and has produced hundreds of success stories.

How to Avoid an Affiliate Marketing Disaster

While you want and need to be original, learn to repeat successful tactics already in use. There is no need to reinvent the business.

1. Be choosy when picking the niche you're going into promote products. You want a market where people are already spending money. Why sell a product no one is looking for.

Some of the top selling markets never get fully planned. The work at home, weight loss, health and fitness are examples of markets that keep on producing profits.

Your chances of success are greater in these types of niches.

2. Master one product before you add more products or build another site. You will perform better on multiple products once you have mastered the art of successful marketing with your first product. Some sites look like a flea market and have so many choices it can actually distract the visitor.

3. Try to differentiate your site from all the other affiliates of your products. Help the search engines to see you as fresh content. You want to brand yourself differently than the other affiliates.

4. Create an opt-in box to capture the email addresses of visitors so that you can turn them into future customers. If you want to be successful in the long run, you must have your own list to market to in the future. This will give you a chance to brand yourself and build a reputation as a trusted source for new opportunities.

5. Use keywords in your site to help your prospective customers find you. Do not use untried methods when there are plenty of time-tested marketing strategies available. Do what the successful affiliates do. There is a reason they are successful.

6. Try and test as many different marketing ads and traffic generating methods as possible. Rinse and repeat the ones that work and get rid of the losers.

7. Promote products you use and believe in. You will be trusted more if people can tell you have faith in the products you are promoting. Being familiar with your product makes it easier to answer your prospects questions and point out the benefits of your product versus the competition.

When your list is large enough and trusting to your recommendations, producing profits will be simple. Good experiences by past customers will produce future repeat sales. You can turn some customers into lifetime relationships. Statistics show that 80% of your revenues are derived from 20% of your customers.

Make Money Online Testing Websites

In a world of bogus online job chances, it’s good to understand there are a few genuine internet side hustles you can deal with to generate a healthy side salary. One particular such hustle is website testing. In the event that you’ve by no means tried it, after that now is a great time to find out what it is, how much you can possibly make, and who also will pay you to begin.

What precisely Is Website Testing?

Website testing is a fairly simple idea in which people who have no immediate ties to a brand dedicate time using, accessing, and examining the brand’s website as a way of offering opinions on the features and appeal of the internet site. Website testing is priceless in today’s market place, exactly where websites perform an integral role in both equally small and large brands’ capability to reach, participate, and convert online clients. It’s not enough to possess a website, the site needs to be enhanced in a way that it fosters great brand associations and eventually drives lucrative conversions.

When you take a look at the amount of time and dollars brands invest into web design and development, it turns into obvious why they take testing so significantly. Whilst every scenario is diverse, here a few average costs meant for developing a custom-made website:

Small business site: $2,000 to $8,000 Dollars

Medium-sized business web page: $10,000 to $25,000 Dollars

E-commerce internet site: $5,000 to $40,000 Dollars

Large business site: $25,000 to $40,000 Dollars

And so all those are simply the costs to get up and working. Once you throw in extra expenses incorporating domain name, SSL certificate, web page hosting, content management system, constant web design, advertising, and optimization, the regular costs can be thousands of dollars per month. Obviously, in the event that a business will invest in a site, they want to ensure it functions. They have diverse methods for identifying how well an internet site works, but nothing at all beats the raw, unfiltered nature of user testing.

How Much May You Help to make Testing Websites?

Let’s be very clear about one point in advance, you are not really going to get rich testing websites at least in this capability. For the overpowering majority of persons, website testing isn’t designed to be your full-time work and won’t change your whole profits. It can, however, complement your cash flow and provide you a modest extra spending funds for the weekend, that following a holiday, or for a great buy without draining all your savings.

Generally speaking, virtually all website testing businesses are going to pay you $10 per internet site that you test. Sometimes you’ll get $15 to $25, yet these are uncommon exceptions and are frequently merely provided to those with experience. A site testing session ordinarily lasts for 15 to 30 minutes, although there are an only a few that can be finished in right around 10 minutes.

In many cases, website testing possibilities are sent to end users via email-or inside an online platform-and you have to “claim” the test in order to earn access. Based on the quantity of users contending for options, it can certainly be harder to obtain tests with a few companies than others. If you get sent five offers to test websites every day, you’ll most likely simply effectively claim one or two-and you’ll have to act promptly. Having said that, an extra $10 daily can easily add up. If you test five websites each week at that rate, you can easily fairly expect to produce an extra $200 each month.

Affiliate Marketing – The Basics

Affiliate marketing has been described in various ways but basically they all have the same meaning. On the Internet today affiliate marketing has solidified its place in the world of e-commerce business. Essentially, affiliate marketing is a cooperative effort between a merchant and the affiliate's website.

From a merchant's perspective, for many years now, affiliate marketing has proven to be very cost effective. By teaming up with various website owners merchants can now essentially have a World Wide Web sales staff operating strictly on commission with no other overhead. This is a very attractive scenario for the merchant or advertiser and with today's explosive growth of online buying it has become a win-win business model for both the merchant and the website owner.

Each and every day more and more people come across and become more interested in affiliate marketing and how they can make money from participating. And just like any new startup business the failure rate in affiliate marketing is quite high. Most people new to affiliate marketing do not understand the intricacies of affiliate marketing and what it takes to be successful with an affiliate website.

When I work with people just getting started in affiliate marketing probably the biggest misconception that people who are just getting started have his understanding the difference between advertising and marketing.

I would say that the vast number of affiliate marketing sites that I work with and come across would be more accurately define as affiliate advertising. These sites generally will not last very long in the competitive arena of affiliate marketing. Conversely, I also work with people who go to the other extreme and believe that they have to be the "seller" of whatever product or service they feature on their website. The truly successful sites and the ones that make a good living for the website owner understand what it means to market not only their website but their affiliate product as well. Certainly, selling and advertising are components of marketing but they have to be combine in an overall consistent approach that extremely makes their websites sell.

In the affiliate marketing business model the affiliate is compensated for every visitor that they send to a merchant site and then purchases from the merchant a product or service being offered. Affiliate compensation can vary greatly between affiliate programs and the products that they offer.

Many of the affiliate marketing programs out there today are being managed by affiliate networks. These affiliate networks are composed of various merchants and affiliates. Each having their own function when it comes to affiliate marketing. An affiliate network acts as a third-party between the merchant and the associated affiliates of the merchant. Essentially the network provides the technology to deliver the merchants campaigns and offers to the various affiliates and keep track of sales and statistics for both parties. Also, an affiliate network will collect the commission fees from the merchant and then pay the affiliates who have earned said responsibilities.

The benefits of being an affiliate marketer are many. The affiliate is a website owner that markets and Promotes one or more merchants and their products via the affiliate program. Affiliate marketing can quite possibly provide a full-time income for the affiliate. And although much of the marketing surrounding affiliate marketing would indicate that this is not only possible but rather easy; simply is not true. Just like any business it takes hard work and persistence to be truly successful.

Affiliate marketing can be a great situation for someone wanting to start up their own business and work from home. The level of success defined is a personal thing and certainly affiliate marketing offers all levels of success.

From a pure business standpoint, affiliate marketing offers low startup costs and very little overhead. That's the easy part. Once you have your website up and you have found some good affiliate programs to offer your visitors, the true challenge is getting those visitors to your website.

And that begins an entirely new topic in the arena of affiliate marketing. Because without visitors there are no responsibilities. If you would like to learn more on affiliate marketing and how to become a successful affiliate marketer, please visit my website.

Struggling To Make Money Online? – The Boa Method

Making money online is fast becoming more and more popular as time goes by and as technology
advances, the huge surge in numbers of wannabe internet marketers is also being fueled by
the current skilled internet marketers ability to write compelling sales pitches and promote
that message far and wide, sometimes beyond the internet itself.

The hardest task a person faces when wanting to enter into the internet marketing arena, is
trying to establish out of the many products, guides, video tutorials and other offerings that
are out there, which of these can actually teach them how to go about make money online.
Unfortunately many so called internet marketing "guru's" are all to aware of the huge desire
and need that there is for these types of products and often put together incomplete products
which purposely miss out huge pieces of the online money making jigsaw. This missing piece is
not done so by accident either, it is done so that each new product which is released would
offer a solution to this missing piece.

Now that does not sound too bad right? well the problem we face is not solely with the product
itself, its the fact that the sales material provided tells a completely different story all
together. The material often paints the picture of a full system laid bare, no other
information required, you can be alerting millions per year from the comfort of your own home.
These so called internet "guru's" have become masters in the art of copywriting, the information
you read on a products sales page / email, in fact all most anywhere the item is promoted, and it
is all so easy to pull out your credit card and purchase, which is why there are so many
"guru's" with more money than sense.

Due to these false claims these are some cold hard facts;

  • Nearly 50% of people have spent at least $ 5,000 on these products
  • 81% of people say that have gotten little or no use out of them!
  • 44% have never earned more than $ 100 in there BEST month online
  • 86.9% think they cant put to use what they have learned

(information taken from 5 independent surveys of online marketers)

Now compare that to the many emails and sales letters you read, not quite the pretty picture
you are lead to believe?

So whats the answers? There is a lot of money to be made online, and there are products out
there that can "hold your hand" and give you a blueprint to work from with no missing pieces,
my big tip tip is to do as much research as you can, find someone who does not give the thumbs
up to every single product launch, and a huge tip is to read forums as they are the most
unbiased source of review you can get. Do not pull out your credit card every time a new shiny
product is launched look into it first and see some proof from the creator and make sure them
are alerting the money that they say you will be learning in 3 minutes from purchase!
Internet marketing CAN allow you to have the financial freedom you need, just be more than
aware of the clever marketing tactics around you.
